Mexico host Pan American Volleyball Cup

 

Preparations move ahead for the IX Men's Pan American Volleyball Cup

Tijuana, Mexico, August 5, 2014 - The Mexican men's volleyball team will participate in the IX Men’s Pan American Volleyball Cup before traveling to Europe for the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, which takes place in Poland from August 30 to September 21.

The Men’s Pan American Volleyball Cup is scheduled to take place from August 9-17. Nine teams are expected to compete, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the United States and hosts Mexico. The teams participating in the competition will arrive in Tijuana this week.

Last year's Pan American Cup took place at the Juan de la Barrera Olympic Gymnasium in Mexico City. Winners Brazil defeated silver medalists Mexico in the final.

Journalists are invited to a press conference at 12.00
local time on Tuesday at the Baja California High Performance Center in
Tijuana, which will also host the competition.

Fans will get a chance to cheer for some of the best volleyball players and teams in the Americas. Entrance will be free.
