Argentina are now 2-1 while Cameroon dropped to a 0-3 win-loss mark
Wroclaw, Poland, September 4, 2014 – Argentina gained a second victory on FIVB Men’s World Championship Poland 2014 as they beat Cameroon in straight sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-23) in a Pool A match at Centennial Hall on Thursday.
Argentina are now at 2-1 win-loss record with two more matches to play in the first round while Cameroon remained winless after three matches.

Jose Luis Gonzalez and Facundo Conte led Argentina’s forces with 15 and 13 points, respectively, while David Feughouo was tops for Cameroon with 14 tallies.
Argentina blanked Cameroon 6-0 in the aces charts and held a slight 5-4 advantage in the blocking category.
Argentina started the match with a two-point lead following Cameroon’s service and block errors, although Cameroonian libero, Alain Fossi Kamto, was showing an admirable devotion in reception. The South American team made simple mistakes which with addition of the powerful kills of Jean Patrice Ndaki gave Cameroon an 8-7 lead at the first technical time out. Both teams had masters in attack – Nathan Wounembaina and Ndaki Mboulet for Cameroon and Facundo Conte in Argentina. Before the second time out, Argentina managed to jump ahead as the scoreboard showed the digits at 16-12. As Argentina started to gain more points, coach Peter Nonnebroich asked for two time-outs for Cameroon but still Jose Luis Gonzalez was surprising the Africans team with aces. Two Cameroon changes were unsuccessful as Argentina romped to a 25-17 victory, following Martin Ramos’ kill.
Surprisingly, the beginning of the next set was better for the Cameroonians as they gained three points in a row. Following lot of their errors, the Argentineans were got off the court for the technical time out with an 8-7 lead. Head coach Julio Velasco’s team were calmly gaining points as Conte and Gonzalez were spiking effectively. Cameroon showed some promising kills by the likes of Joseph Herve Kofane Boyomo and David Feughouo, but their opponents were still uncatchable. For the second technical time-out, Argentina gained five points more but following the break, luck was on Cameroon’s side. They scored four points one after another as Sem Dolegombai was unstoppable against Argentina’s block. That was not enough to stop South America’s team and after block-out move, Argentina won 25-18.
In the third set, Argentina took the lead following Pablo Crer’s spike and they were gradually increasing their lead so that, before the time-out, they led 8-5. Following the break, Cameroon caught up their opponents and the teams were exchanging points. For a while, Nonnenbroich’s team with the support of the Polish crowd, were leading 13-12, thanks to Feughouo’s fantastic spike. Argentina, with Conte’s help, regained the lead just before the second technical time-out. Until the end of the set, both of the teams were nervous and were making some simple errors as the result was tied. Argentina won the last part of the match 25-23 thanks to perfect kill by Martin Ramos.
