I told Toniutti to watch Marouf's play - Laurent Tillie

According to coach Tillie, Benjamin Toniutti was one of several key players for this win

Mir Saeid Marouflakrani - Iran captain: "Congratulations to France, they played good volleyball today. We had problems with our side out and we couldn't serve well. This is sport, every team have bad days, we could have won this fourth set, but lost control on the game. We had only 33% in our side out and at this level if you want to win, you need to keep it on at least 50%."

Benjamin Toniutti - France captain: "At first, the match reminded me of our game against Italy, when we won the first two sets and then started losing. But today, after losing the second set we kept playing like a team and managed to keep our level for almost all sets. This helped us to win today."

Slobodan Kovac - Iran coach: "We tried to change something in our game but we didn't play like in the last two matches. Maybe we thought France is not at the same level than USA and Italy - if this is the case, it was big mistake from our side. Mentally, it was difficult to come back after such a bad start. Every day shows that we have to think only about the next game, as anything can happen here."

Laurent Tillie - France coach: "We've spent the last two days working on our mental strength and team spirit, because if we want to win we need to play 100% every time, every match. We know how good Iran can play. They are stronger than us, but if they give us just one chance, we have to take it and that's what we did today. I have to give credit to my setter and spikers for how they were fighting today. I actually told Toniutti to observe the way Marouf plays. Maybe this helped us today."
