The United States team have spent more time on court than any other at the Men's World Championship
Łódź, Poland, September 16, 2014 - Two complete rounds have been played at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014, which is a total of 92 matches. The tournament statistics reveal significant differences in playing times, with the United States team spending 19 hours and 40 minutes on court.
Match durations can vary greatly, from fast three-set sweeps to exhausting five-setters, which is reflected in the combined team match-time statistics.
The time each team has spent on court at the Men's World Championship also depends on how far a team has progressed in the competition. After Round 1, the original line-up of 24 teams was reduced to 16, as Venezuela, Cameroon, Korea, Tunisia, Mexico, Egypt, Belgium and Puerto Rico were eliminated from the tournament. The end of Round 2 saw that number reduced to six, with USA, Serbia, Argentina, Italy, Australia, Canada, Finland, Cuba, Bulgaria and China forced to bid farewell to Poland.
