The libero Mario Jr. is a title collector in the youth academy. In 1998, he won the Junior National Championship playing for Rio de Janeiro team. Right in the next year, placed third in the same competition. In 2001, the trophy lift by him was the Junior National Championship.In 2009, he was selected by Bernardinho for the national team and won the World League, the Champions Cup and the South American Championship. Mario started the 2010 season winning the title of the Qorld League e was elected the best libero in the competition. He was also onde of the best players in the conquest of World Championship, in the same year. In 2011, won the Pan American Championship. In 2013, as Serginho decides to retire from the national team, Mario Jr. assumed the role of Brazil’s libero. Therefore, helped the national team to get the silver medal in the World League, being chosen the best player in his position.He was also South American and Grand Championship Champion. He helped Brazil to achieve the silver medal in the FIVB World League.
