With the brazilian national team, Sidão won the World League four times: 2006, 2007,2009 e 2010. The middleblocker became World Champion in 2010 and lift the Champions Cup and the South American Championship trophies in 2009, besides a second place in the 2011 World League. Sidão was also part of the national team in the London 2012 silver medal. Recovering from a surgery in the spine, the player could not take part in the 2013 World League, but returned in an excellent way: being elected the best player in the South American Championship and lifting the trophy of the Grand Champions Cup at the end of the year. Sidão was part of the team that achieved the silver medal in the 2014 World League.
