Bari, Italy, September 12, 2018 - The last and third match on schedule for the opening day of action at PalaFlorio in Bari delivered high-level volleyball for more than two hours. The United States eventually edged Serbia 3-2 (15-25, 25-14, 21-25, 25-20, 15-10) at the end of a truly dramatic match where they came back twice from one set down. Matthew Anderson along with his teammate Aaron Russell top scored with 19 points for the United States. On the Serbian side of the net, outside spiker Uros Kovacevic recorded the same number of points while opposite Aleksandar Atanasijevic contributed 14 for Serbia.
