Finland Coach, Tuomas Sammelvuo

Thank for the Cuba, they played very good especially in attack in first 2 sets. We were very impatient in our attack. Later on we played better and wiser, we served better and could block. I’m proud of the team, players and staff and work that we have done. It was a perfect starting story for the tournament. We’re very confident right now. I would like also to thank our fans who were amazing.

Finland Captain, Antti Siltala

I’m pleased with the result, we were losing 1-0, then 2-0 but we came back and won. It gives us a lot of confidence for the rest of the tournament.

Cuba Coach, Rodolfo Sanchez

I’d like to congratulate Finnish team for the victory. I think that we played well, we were leading. Our team is very young, there are 18 and 19 years old players and we lost the most important points. We will see what was positive in our game and we will draw conclusions.

Cuba Captain, Rolando Cepeda Abeau

We had the game in our hands but we made too many mistakes. We’re disappointed with the result, because we were leading 2-0 but lost 3-2.
