Mini Volleyball World Championship in Bydgoszcz

 

A Mini Volleyball World Championship took place in Bydgoszcz

Bydgoszcz, Poland, September 14, 2014 - A Mini Volleyball World Championship was held in Bydoszcz on Saturday. 

Over 500 students from 43 schools in the area of Bydgoszcz took to the courts to play volleyball.The games were played in three age categories and each team represented one of the countries involved in the FIVB Men's World Championship. 

Among the youngest participants - the elementary school students - the team representing Poland took first place. Second place went to the team representing Russia. In the middle group - the secondary school students - the gold medal went to the players competing under Bulgaria's flag. Second place went to Italy. In the last category - who were high school students and the oldest participants - the best were the team representing Cuba, who defeated Australia in the final. 

The aim of the event was to popularise volleyball among young people by involving them in a fun experience.

Secondary Schools: 
1. Bulgaria - Gimnazum 9 Bydgoszcz 
2. Italy - Gimnazjum 5 Bydgoszcz 
3. Serbia - Gimnazjum 16 Bydgoszcz 

High Schools: 
1. Cuba - ZS Mechanicznych 1 Bydgoszcz 
2. Australia - V LO Bydgoszcz 
3. Canada - ZS Samochodowych Bydgoszcz
