New Venezuela coach arrives in Caracas

 

Venezuela men's national team will be led by new coach, Italian Vicenzo Nacci

Caracas, Venezuela, May 2, 2014 – Italian coach Vicenzo Nacci arrived in Caracas on Wednesday, April 30, to assume the position of coach of the Venezuelan men’s national team. 

Nacci met with Judith Rodriguez, president of the Venezuelan Volleyball Federation to discuss and finalise the training preparations and plans for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in Poland from August 30 to September 21, 2014.

Rodriguez mentioned that coach Nacci will be joined by assistant coach Ivan Nieto, trainer Erick Subero, statistician Ruben Campos, doctor Armando Camara, and Hernan Pantoja.

Rodriguez also said that the preparation will begin on Monday and the national team training base will be in Gimnasio Hermanas Gonzalez in Bolivar, courtesy of the Ministry of Sports.

Meanwhile, Nacci bared his initial training plans for the team, and wants to work technically and tactically, but the physical condition of all the players need to be checked first. 

Venezuela will be participating in the Pan American Cup in Monterrey, Mexico from August 9 to 17. The Pan American Cup is a key event that will help evaluate the players’ performance and determine the team’s final selection for the World Championship. 

Nacci said that it is certain that the team will also travel to Ostuni, Italy, to get the team acclimatised to the European weather before the start of the World Championship.
