 National coach Vital Heynen has got a problem that is nice to have when
it comes to the opposite position. Jochen Schöps as well as Georg Grozer are
two players, who can resolve a match almost on their own. The attacks of 29-year-old
Hungarian-born Grozer count to the hardest ones in world class volleyball and
his services as well as his blocks are impressive. The 2.00 m tall player
resembles his father, who created a furor in the 80’s and 90’s, in appearance,
game and motion. 2011 Grozer could not help the German team because of an
injury. In 2012 the dynamic and powerful hitter smashed the German team to the
Olympics and to the 5th place in London. With his club Belgorod/RUS
he won every possible title in the last two years.
