 Born Taylor Lee Sander in 1992 in Fountain Valley, Calif. His parents are Steve and Kera Sander. Taylor has one brother, Brenden, and one sister, Britney. He began playing indoor volleyball in 1999 with Mavericks Volleyball Club.
Sander made his debut with the senior U.S. Men's National Team at the 2014 NORCECA World Championship Qualifier and was named Best Server as the U.S. Men won. During the 2014 World League he became a starter when Reid Priddy injured his knee during the first weekend. Sander ended up being named MVP of the Final Round as the U.S. Men won the gold medal.
Sander was a member of the U.S. youth and junior national teams. He played four years for BYU 2011-2014 and was named the AVCA Player of the Year in 2014.
Sander has signed to play for Blu Volley Verona during the winter of 2014-15.
