Simone Buti – Our dream is to win the medal

Kraków, Poland, September 4, 2014 - One of the best scorers in today’s match between Italy and Belgium the Italian Simone Buti, briefly analises the encounter against Belgium. You were playing really good today, despite the fact that you started slowly, you managed to regroup and win it quite smoothly in four sets.Buti: - Yes, you’re right we started slowly but as time passed by we were playing better and better. We were more focused and better prepared for the match. Unfortunately at the end of the first set we made a couple of unforced errors and as a result we lost the first set. Taking all into consideration, I think we played a good volleyball and I think we improved a lot.Do you think that you still have a room for improvement? What are you working on the most?Buti: - Definitely. We have to improve our counter-attack, spikes and block-out. Today we were quite good in comparison to our last matches, but still we must play a lot of better if we want to advance to the next round and stand a chance against the other teams. We still have to work on our serve as well. It’s essential to use all the opportunities to win the points on our serve. The amount of break-points taken shows how good our serve is and the high percentage of break-points taken always lead to the victory.Have you analised matches of your next opponent – Puerto Rico? Did you have a chance to prepare tactics for this match?Buti: -Frankly speaking we didn’t have time to do that but we’ll do it for sure tomorrow. Every team in our group is very strong so we can’t underestimate Puerto Rico. What’s your goal for this Championship?Buti: -Our goal is to advance as far as possible. Of course, everyone is dreaming about taking a medal, but we know it’s going to be really hard especially if we keep on playing the way we played in our previous matches.  As for now we need to improve mentally and be better prepared for the upcoming matches.
